Amer Abdallah, currently 14-0, and the #1 ranked Light Heavyweight in the United States and #5 worldwide doesn’t take his training camps lightly. Each member of his team have specific duties and tasks that they are expected to excel in to be able to maintain the physical requirements needed to ensure Abdallah becomes the best fighter in the world. Abdallah’s coaching team consists of head kickboxing coach Corey Webster and co-trainer Jim Andrello, along with boxing coach Jeff Mayweather.

A recent change in his strength and conditioning opened the door to Team Abdallah newcomer Greg Jones.

Due to the magnitude and caliber of the upcoming fight, Team Abdallah manager Ahmed Imamovic made some significant changes.

“I feel that it’s always important to make changes to our team so things don’t get stagnant during a fighter’s career. But I would never make a change just for the sake of change. By bringing on Greg Jones we get a world class trainer who continues to challenge Amer and help bring him more strength and explosiveness. This is hugely important for us because all of the top guys in the sport, like James Wallis, are strong, durable guys that need to be broken down over the full course of the bout. That’s what Greg brings to the table.”

“I’ve never made weight and felt so strong this far from the fight before.  My body has changed tremendously and I love the scientific approach Greg takes. His background in nutrition and sports specific training makes him one of the elite trainers in this area,” Abdallah added.

Jones, who is the new owner of the Lockport Athletic & Fitness club has scientifically calculated workouts for Abdallah everyday he comes in and tracks the U.S. Champions daily weight, caloric intake, heart rate and body fat percentage. Abdallah’s training with Jones consists of many explosive, strength, conditioning and agility drills specifically geared for the nature of combat Abdallah will undergo in his upcoming bout.

“We are expecting a tough fight with a world class caliber opponent” Abdallah said. “We’ll be ready”.
